Given the information, I would think that just saving the document as a .doc file would allow you to open it in word.
As for modifying the file in word, you’re limited to word capabilities, depending on what you’re trying to do to the document…
You need an optical copy reader software program that usually comes with the printer’s programs or something else. You might try to find something like that at “downloads.com.” Then save it as a .doc or .rtf file.
