Ok so I’ve been sick alot of my life when I was 10, 15 and now again at 19. I’ve had 2 MRI’s (brain scans) and countless chest and ct scans, galleon scans and every other xray/scan known to man. My question is (as stupid as it may sound) will I suffer from radiation? This past tuesday I had a chest xray and ct scan both on the same day within an interval of 3 hours. Long term will this affect me? Overall I have probably had over 30+ xrays. I know it might come across weird and I personally don’t really think it could do anything to me but I was wondering if it will affect me later on in life? Also I went to the doctors on tuesday where she said I should get the xray and she also mentioned something about my many xrays and excessive(?) umm can’t think of the word to radiation? Sorry I couldnt think of the word (mind blank)
I’ve got ADD and a bit bad, unmedicated. And maybe some other stuff mixed in, too, I guess. All the doctors I’ve seen hadn’t been able to tell me exactly what’s wrong. One of my meds work, but now its started to lose certain effects and my doc won’t increase the dosage on another one, which woud really help.
Adderall used to work fully, but now its pretty difficult remembering and even gettting started with some sutt. I had to drop 3 classes. I hated that.
And I’m on clonozepam for social phobia but the dosage I’m on isn’t really helping much and my doctor won’t listen to me. He hasn’tfrom the start and all of his advice had been wrong and danergerous. Some dosaages are good fors some situations but higher ones are needed for most.
I’ve been told that getting a scan of my brain or something would show exactly what’s wrong with it, but I don’t know w hat to think of that or how to go about getting . I don’t even know the difference between the 2 scans.
Any input?
Is frequent use of MRI/CT contrast dangerous?
I had an MRI of my brain in Dec. of 08.
A CT scan of my temporal bones and inner ear with contrast about 2 weeks ago.
And I will be having a MRV of my brain to look at the veins with contrast this Monday. I got blood work yesterday which will be sent to the place where I am going to be having the MRV performed.
But is too much use of contrast dangerous?
