I want to make a keepsake for my grandson. He is in fourth grade and donated his money to Katrina victims. They wrote an article about him in the newspaper, but used another picture. Now I want to take his color school photo and insert it into the newspaper article AND make it look natural. I am using Photoshop Elements 4.0 in the “from scratch” part of the program. I have cropped the photo to the correct size. I have layered it over the newspaper article. I can change the photo to black and white, but it doesn’t blend at all. Sepia tones don’t either. The photo is too clear compared with the newspaper print. Both pieces are scanned at 300 dpi in RBG.
If I get my 3d scan in black and white will i be able to see the baby just as well as in the color ones?

I scanned a picture i drew and I went to the paint program to color it in and when I tried to color it in, it was gray. I repeated this process with every tool and…. nothing but gray lines. How do i do it? My scanner is a Lexmark X7350 and I have a fairly new Dell XPS with windows Vista, if that helps
I want to digitally color some scanned sketches I have, but I am new to it altogether. I am using a mouse (no Tablet). Can you give me a link to a tutorial for coloring images, or give me any help on doing this?
Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
PS) The images I want to color can be found here, for reference:

I have recently scanned one of my black and white drawings and uploaded it on photoshop. It is inked with a brush and only needs color. I pulled up some videos on youtube teaching me how to paint this drawing. After watching some videos I ran into a big problem; in all the videos the artist can paint where ever he wants without coloring over his initial lines… I can’t. I want to be able to paint over my lines and not cover them with my paint. I have photoshop CS4 and my drawing is inked and everything… Thanks!!!
How do I change the background color of a passport picture in photoshop cs4. managed to do this but there was color bleeding, around edges ears and parts of face like the forehead. What dimensions do I save this for a passport picture. Got the picture by selecting the scanned image … copying then pasting it on a new photo document. Is this the right method ? Any help greatly appreciated.
Trying to scan a document with color but the scan never comes out exactly right. The colors come out either too dull or too dull bright. Would it be possible to adjust the settings of the scanner to scan my document better? The colors just aren’t coming out right. Might it be the scan light from the printer that is throwing the colors off?
