I am 41 years male
I have got headache for past 1 week .Even painkillers are not giving me relief .I also have nausea with numbness & weakness in my both the legs
My neurologist has advised to go for NCCT of brain
Is it not too early to have CT Scan
I am worried about the radiation effect of Scan.I had the similar scan 1 year back , which came negative
even i had MRI also done which was negative .After that I was put on antidepressants , which gave me complete relief .
But now the symptoms have again appeared despite taking antidepressants regularly
Shall I visit my psycharist again OR get CT scan done as per neurologist
i went to the hospital last night for shortness of breath and they told me i was 2 weeks pregnant i had o get a chest xray which has radiation but not much then i had to get a ct scan and they put dye in my i.v to look for a blood clot in my lung and the said the dye would sit in my badder under the baby and it has radiatin in the dye so i scare what is gonna happen o my baby is it gonna be ok hat could happen.

I meant why(not how) is the left-right in MRI and CT scan images always interchanged?

I have had some peripherial blurriness for about 3 weeks now. I orginally had blurriness in most of my vision, but it has slowly went away and then leveled off (it is now only in my peripheral sight). The opthamologist wants me to get a CT scan or a MRI. I was just wondering what he is looking for. Thank you very much.
I know why they would use a CAT scan or an MRI. I am looking for possible disorders/diseases that they are looking for. Is it mainly stroke and ms or are they looking for other things as well?

I’m talking about food , natural herbs or any kind of products that have been proved of which can reduce radiations human body absorbed from a radiation scan like CT , xray , etc .
Any suggestions ?
I was in the ER with Sinus Tachycardia, high BP, and o2 desats. I was stabilized on fluids after 3-4 hours of 3 IV bags of fluid. The doctor wanted a chest CT scan to rule out pulmonary embolism since there is clotting history in my family. He said they would protect me with 2 lead sheets over my stomach and inject dye to concentrate on the area but there are still risks. The risks of the pulmonary embolism meant death to us both should I have one and he said it was worth it to do the test. I agreed and did it. It came back negative no embolisms. I was so nervous they had to give me .5 mg of ativan which he said one wouldn’t hurt despite it being class C or D. I was then put back on the IV fluids and returned to normal after having a bout of what he believed was dehydration and my asthma flaring up.
My question is how risky is the .5 mg of ativan and the CT scan of my chest. Has anyone had a healthy pregnancy and child despite having a chest CT scan. I went home and read you could miscarry or have a baby with malformations even child hood cancer risks but those are greater in abdominal CT scans vs. chest or head scans. Please help!
I am also still breastfeeding my 2 yo I just read the contrast dye can pose risks to him but its been a day since I had the procedure and I breastfed him during that time. OMG I am beyond freaked out right now why didn’t they tell me about that part?!!?!?!?!?!
TY and you’re right about the stress I am reading too much about it and becoming a hypochondriac, lol. I am having a panic attack just thinking about the 1 week late dye reactions in those allergic to iodine like me, or at least my mom told me I am because I guess it is the stuff that makes me allergic to shell fish!
