I went to the hospital for something unrelated, and had an Abdominal X-ray and Abdominal CT Scan. Would those show if I was pregnant? I’m very concerned that I may be getting false negatives b/c of low hormones. THANKS!

And if I “were pregnant” it would be about 13 weeks along… so that should be far enough along to show, right? But unfortunately i’m a very small girl, so i dunno if it would be too small inside to see it. Thanks again!!!

I live in Michigan and am interested in going to school to either work with CT scans or MRI scans, something like that. I don’t necessarily want to get into radiation. Does anyone know the degree I would need, and/or a good school to go to? I’d like to go somewhere with a 2 yr degree. Thanks in advance.

Would a life time of radiation exposure from occasional sporadic X-Rays and CT scans accumulate to increase ones risk of radiation-induced sickness in later life? Or does the body recover after each event? If so, how long does it take to recover?

I’m getting a CT scan on thursday of the lower abdomen and pelvis because of the possibility of an ovarian cyst. My mom says they can be more than $1000, but I just wanted to know if it was cheaper if it’s only for a small part of the body. Our insurance probably won’t cover much of it and we do not have a lot of money right now, so I am a little worried about the cost.

I would like for any medical professionals to explain this to me. I answered two questions today from people who had been burned. I build powerful 3D x-ray machines that screen baggage and I understand the slice function. In my research I came across miaderm.com and they purport that they can treat radiation burns and prevent ct burns if applied beforehand. I also saw that oncologists use ct scans with caution. I think this is a good question, be careful with the answer.
