I am a cancer patient, I have to have CT scans every few months, have had over the past five years. But the last couple I have had, when they inject the dye, it doesn’t travel through my body like it use to. It stays right in my chest and really hurts and burns. I have a scan coming up next week and don’t think I will let them shoot the dye. Anyone know why this happens???? I really haven’t ask the doctors, I know I need to, will probably call before the scan and talk with them.
I’m doing a grade 11 biology report on MRI and CT scans, and so far I’ve learned that they’re pretty much non-invasive methods of treatment. Is there an invasive property about one of these that I’ve missed (other than the radiation)? By invasive, I mean physical penetration of the body (e.g surgery). Anything done prior to the scan? For example, could there possibly be an injection or something in the patient before getting the scan done?
Thanks for the help!
Thanks, didn’t know that although something like that did seem likely.
Doing a paper on imaging methods for chemistry and would like to know some other methods besides an mri and a ct scan and x-rays that science has available to get pictures and images of the human body

Hi, I am 20 years old and since january I have had horrible neck pain and headaches. In march I finally went and got I CT scan and everything came back normal. I know that MRIs are one of the best imaging test, but what about CT scans? My headaches have settled down a little bit and they are not as frequent, but Im still worried. Could a Ct scan miss a brain tumor?
They’re some of the most common medical procedures, but are CT scans posing a radiation hazard?
As far as I know both perform pretty much the same function? Thanks.
We’re thinking of getting one or the other done – there’s nothing wrong just want to get one to make sure there’s nothing wrong! : )
Thinking of a head and a chest scan.
I’ve heard that they can detect nearly EVERYTHING that can possibly be wrong with you in your WHOLE entire body, but I’ve also heard reports that they subject you to MASSIVE amounts of radiation.
what about x-rays?
I”ve had so many different xrays done it’s not even funnny, and I believe I only had one CT scan in my life.
Is there a way to undo radiation exposure, or not really?
And are CT scans really THAT dangerous?
