when i scan to microsoft word it comes up in code… how can i fix this? thanks in advance
It’s grounded French war planes, it’s convinced the U.S. government to put a 250,000 dollar bounty on the head of the creator, it’s stopping people from updating on Microsoft, downloading antivirus software, stopping virus scans, copying itself invisibly, spread itself all over the world in thousands upon thousands of computers in several countries, and as we speak it’s growing more and more resistant, and awaiting orders from it’s creator. Today is it’s launch date, and today people are on alert. Even Microsoft is spooked: http://www.microsoft.com/protect/computer/viruses/worms/conficker.mspx and though they claim that using their quick scanner, then downloading their Malicious Software Removal Tool, then downloading the update, experts and even governments are worried about it’s capabilities. But the infamous launch date has arrived (April Fool’s Day) and it hasn’t unleashed it’s wrath on us yet. So, tell me…Is it just one huge April Fool’s Day prank, and we should treat it like it’s Y2K, or should we really be preparing for the cyber apocalypse?
Nothing happened, but April 1st isn’t over yet. Also, people are convinced that even if nothing happens today, it doesn’t mean that this date wasn’t a decoy. April 1st may be a day for us to freak out, then let down our guard. But , maybe it’s the biggest prank since the Taco Bell Liberty Bell.
With all of the conficker hype lately, I have been freaking out that I may not be protected. How would I know if I have it? I have been using AVG free (I know it’s not the best) and it has been doing daily scans and updates. I have not really noticed any bugs/problems with my computer either. I can access all the anti virus sites that supposedly would be disabled if I was infected. However, for some reason I can’t access microsoft.com. I was wondering if it is just crowded or if somehow I am infected and the worm is stopping me from going there. I don’t know for sure if I have the microsoft patch…is there any way to tell? Does it seem like I am infected or protected or what? Please help.
Whenever i go to any microsoft site it says “network timeout”…is this bad? please help…don’t just refer me to a microsoft link
I’m pretty sure I’ve been infected with that worm/virus, how do I get rid of it?

Evidence: Ever since April 1, my internet has been turning off automatically, and it’s been going really slow

Another part is that I can visit someone the websites that test if you have it, like avg.com and others, I just can’t go to updates.microsoft.com for some reason

Also I heard that 48 hours later it’s suppose to mess with your computer some more, and it’s 48 hours later, and my whole computer shut off like 2 minutes before 12 am

So I think I have it, so how do I get rid of it? I have avg antivirus, and last scan I did, it picked up so many viruses, but only emptied the vault it couldn’t delete or block them for some reason

NEED HELP!
5 hours ago from now i was surfing my browswer and just looking at things. I always pay attention to everything and i make sure I never install anything that’s harmful or something i dont trust. Like if i want to install an update or some other stuff I’ll always go on the official Microsoft website to do so.
I was on google, surfing. I typed in the rarest diablo 2 items (Diablo 2 is an rpg for those who don’t know that). And so i looked around, i clicked on a few websites. My computer was fine, then when i finally clicked on a 3rd one ( it was called something like maxfreak) (DO NOT GO ON IT), my firefox browser failed. So i was like, okay this happens every 2 weeks and now. I re-opened my firefox. Everything was still fine. Then on my right, this crap popped up, must install security system, 3000 threats found!) Ok I didn’t fall for that so i blocked it because I know that it was an unkown publisher. But even when i ignored it ( i didn’t press anything on it or related to it) That crap still coming back, another window popped up. So I started to realize some sh!t was happening. So i moved fast, i quickly turned on my anti virus scan. I made sure my firewall was on, and so i waited untill i could find something. A friend recommended me that i downloaded the latest malwarebytes system. Before I did, my antivirus system started going crazy, I could tell that sh!t was done for, it got infected. So it was a race against time, i couldn’t install the malware byes ( anti malware system) my friend uses it, its safe. because apparently the VIRUS wouldn’t allow me to install it. So i kept moving on. i installed another program which i knew was safe. I managed to do that, and then i managed to find what was wrong. I had over 300 small viruses, malware and trojans ( by just going onto 1 website). I was scared, seriously, so i did my best i removed everything. My computer went back to normal. I thought it was over? It looked like it, everything was perfect. i clicked again my my firefox.. ERROR CANNOT FIND FILE ERROR. I clicked on one of my games (starcraft, diablo 2) ERROR CANNOT FIND FILE. i clicked on itunesk adope, ANYTHING, nothing is working. So i quickly moved on, i did the recovery system from before when i visited that website. and guess what it finished, and i still got ERROR everywhere. I tried to think what to do, i realized if i right clicked on a program and made it run, adminstator, it would then run!! The virus was still nowhere in sight, i think i deleted it all. But then your probably thinking? Hey why not go on the properties ( and check the box ( run as admin…). Yes i did that, but it still gives me that ERROR. I have to always right click a program to make it start.
The exact error text says.. Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. you may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
Can someone please help me? I will give you1 best answer if you find solution? I will give you 3 best answer if you help me solve it (finally). How? i will make 2 more question (random and just give you the best answer in the end). Please don’t tell me to call microsoft, they aren’t going to do crap!! I don’t think i can re-install the system, since i upgraded it form windows vista to windows 7. Please help me!! I am not a computer expert!

Okay I know It currently spreads to other computers, and doesnt allow you to go to security website? BUT NOW How Do they know that every computer infected with it is going to do something On April 1ST fools day? How Do they know its going to make a big move, did the creator send out a message or something?? also where can I scan for the worm besides Microsoft’s scanner?, Because that doesn’t work for Vista?
