My neurologist has advised to go for NCCT of brain
Is it not too early to have CT Scan
I am worried about the radiation effect of Scan.I had the similar scan 1 year back , which came negative
even i had MRI also done which was negative .After that I was put on antidepressants , which gave me complete relief .
But now the symptoms have again appeared despite taking antidepressants regularly
Shall I visit my psycharist again OR get CT scan done as per neurologist
Stage 3 stomach cancer – 2/3 lower portion of stomach removed, received chemo and radiation. Issues with pain, nausea. CT scan scheduled in near future – was told if comes back there is nothing the Dr’s can do. Want to slow possibility of reoccurence or growth. I’m looking for natural alternatives.
I haven’t been feeling well with headaches, dizziness, light headedness, nausea, weak, and sososo tired!
I went to my regular doc for these symptoms and he did a neurological exam (same thing as a sobriety test) and sent me to the ER.
So I went to the ER and they asked me if I could be pregnant. I told them my husband and I have been trying for 7 months but hasn’t worked.
I told them that my last period was the 24th of November. I ovulate on day 12 of my cycle and I have a 28 day cycle so the soonest a urine exam would show a positive would be in 6 days.
They took a urine anyways and it came up negative. And they gave me a Cat Scan.
Could that CAT scan have hurt my baby if I was pregnant and was only about a week along and not even showing enough HCG in my urine?
My Mother had two CT scans at two different Emergency Rooms about a month apart. Then her doctor authorized another one when the testing center didn’t want to do a brain MRI because of the inner ear reconstruction surgery that included a teflon stirrup, hammer, and anvil in her ear. How much radiation is there in a CT scan of the head? How much does this increase her risk of cancer? Both of her parents died from cancer. She is 79 years old. Thanks for your help.
Please could any radiologists or radiology students answer?
The three CT scans showed nothing. I still don’t know the cause of my Mother’s dizziness, nausea, and temporary amnesia. She had three to four episodes in a month and a half. The symptoms seemed to match symptoms of a mini stroke called TIA Transient Ischemic Attack. Her EKG was normal. Her blood work was normal. Her doctor thinks a beta blocker medication called Atenolol caused her symptoms. Her doctor wants to wean her off the Atenolol. She will see her doc next Tuesday. Thanks for your concern. If anyone else reads this and knows if the Atenolol could cause those symptoms please answer. Thank you!
